Rob Colley started playing the piano and composing at an early age and at seven was the soloist in his own first piano concerto.
He studied Mathematics and Music at King's College, Cambridge, before choosing to specialise in classical piano performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Whilst there he won many prizes and scholarships including the Alan Murray, W.A.Richards and Grover-Bennett, obtained his Recital Diploma and, after a further year at the Vienna Musikhochschule, made his London Debut at the Purcell Room in 1984, sponsored by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust.
He has since combined performing and composing activities with a successful teaching career and is currently Head of Keyboard and Composition at Rugby School. In 2007 he received the 'Outstanding Teacher Award' from Chicago University, and in 2008 released his album 'Bluebell Blues', 21 piano compositions recorded at Abbey Road Studios.
A prolific writer and performer, he has had works published on TV, the stage and in films.
He's worked with Tony for the last 9 years bringing an educated edge to Limbic Music.
